About Video to GIF

GIFs are everywhere — Slack reactions, documentation demos, social media, and email signatures. But creating a good GIF from a video requires balancing frame rate, resolution, and file size. Davirix Video to GIF makes it simple: upload a video, select the segment you want, adjust frame rate (10-30 fps) and resolution, and export. The tool shows real-time size estimates so you can tweak settings before downloading. For chat and social use, 480p at 15fps usually gives a smooth, lightweight result. For documentation, 720p at 10fps preserves text readability.

Key Features

  • Visual timeline for segment selection

  • Resolution presets: 240p, 480p, 720p, original

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are GIFs so large?
GIF is an old format that stores each frame individually without modern compression. A 5-second GIF can easily be 5-10 MB. Reduce resolution and frame rate to keep sizes manageable.
What's the ideal length for a GIF?
3-6 seconds works best for most uses. Longer GIFs get very large and can be slow to load.
Can I add text or captions to the GIF?
Text overlay is on our roadmap but not yet available. For now, export the GIF and add text in a separate editor.
